Andrea K. Shoup
Andrea Shoup is an experienced attorney specializing in Trusts, Wills, Trust Administration, Probate and Business Succession Planning serving California. She is dedicated to providing the highest level of personalized service to her clients and understands this may be an unsure and difficult time. Andrea has been certified by the California State Bar as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law.
Andrea grew up on the California Central Coast, in San Luis Obispo County. In 2002, she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Andrea decided to pursue a law degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude from California Western School of Law in 2006. While in law school, Andrea served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and was an officer of the Pro-Bono Honors Society.
Following law school, Andrea worked as a Deputy District Attorney for the San Diego District Attorney’s Office. As a felony trial attorney, Andrea was dedicated to ensuring justice was served in every case.
After leaving the District Attorney’s Office in 2012, she opened her own law practice and pursued a new career. She now focuses exclusively on Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate Administration. Andrea works diligently and attentively to ensure every case and situation is handled effectively and appropriately.
Andrea enjoys getting to know each client, their concerns, and their wishes in order to tailor a plan to best serve their needs. She takes pride in providing excellent and individualized attention to each client, helping them understand every step of the process. Andrea lives in Murrieta, California with her husband and their four children.

David A. Shoup
David Shoup spent eight years serving our country in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman. He left active duty in 2012 to continue his education. After graduating with honors from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, David earned his Juris Doctor, graduating magna cum laude from California Western School of Law in San Diego.
David has a passion for veteran’s rights and mental health awareness and advocates for veterans and the struggles they face after returning from service.
David lives in Murrieta, California with his wife, Andrea, and their four children.
Jennifer E. Dean
Jennifer Dean has years of experience in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate. She particularly has a passion for ensuring wishes for end-of-life decisions are respected and enforceable with the appropriate directive.
Jennifer grew up in Oklahoma and then moved to California in 2010, after earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. While working with a family law attorney in Santa Barbara, California, Jennifer began attending the paralegal program at U.C. Santa Barbara, and fell in love with the estate planning field, and earned her Paralegal Certificate in 2012.
In the years following, Jennifer worked at estate planning firms in the San Diego area while attending California Western School of Law. In law school, Jennifer served as the President of the Estate Planning Society, and worked with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego in its conservatorship clinics and advanced directive and power of attorney workshops. Jennifer earned her Juris Doctor in 2016.
After law school, Jennifer worked in a San Diego law firm, assisting clients with their estate planning, and families dealing with the administration of their estates. She joined the Shoup Legal Team in June 2017.
Jennifer enjoys having conversations with clients that allow them to be comfortable with the estate planning process and addresses each of their concerns. Jennifer also provides compassionate service to help families through the probate process and during the trust administration after the passing of a loved one.
Jennifer lives in Murrieta, California with her husband and son.
Catherine Luong has experience in Estate Planning and Trust Administration. She enjoys cultivating meaningful and productive relationships with her clients to meet their estate plan goals.
Catherine graduated from University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She attended Whittier Law School where she was an Articles Editor for the Law Review. She had the high honor of having her article published in the Law Journal during her second year of law school. During law school, she also clerked for a civil and criminal judge in Orange County. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2013.
After law school, Catherine worked as a consumer debt attorney helping clients resolve their private student loans. She left that field in early 2019 to work in estate planning as that was always her true passion. She cares greatly about helping her clients protect themselves as well as their loved ones.
Catherine lives in Santa Ana, California with her husband and two cats.
KC has been practicing as a corporate and intellectual property law attorney for nearly 20 years. He has held positions in large corporate legal departments and law firms. His practice areas include a broad range of simple and sophisticated business formation, from mom & pop to multi-national subsidiary structures. He handles many types of contracts matters, including leases, buy-sell transactions, supplier agreement, sale & distribution agreements and intellectual property licensing. KC also provides counsel to businesses on IP strategies designed to focus intellectual property resources to align with corporate objectives and monetize IP assets.
KC holds a BS and JD. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, San Diego North County Bar Association, and he is admitted to practice in California and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
KC resides in Vista and has been married to his wife for 20 years. He is also the proud father of two boys.
Hillary Goebel has experience in estate planning, with enthusiasm for special needs trusts. She is the mother of a special needs child with autism, and it has fueled her desire to connect with parents of special needs children.
Hillary was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Tennessee in 2004, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies from Middle Tennessee State University.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Hillary focused on her family as a stay-at-home mother. After deciding to chase her dream of becoming a lawyer, Hillary attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego where she completed internships for estate planning and special education. Hillary earned her Juris Doctor in 2017.
After law school Hillary opened a solo practice, providing estate planning services for clients in multiple jurisdictions. Hillary decided to focus her work in her native state of California, and joined the Shoup Legal team in 2021.
Hillary looks forward to discussing each client’s individual needs and desires, allowing her to create an estate plan tailored to their wishes.
Hillary lives in Temecula with her husband and three sons.

Jim Welch is experienced in commercial operations for both Fortune 100 Companies as well as small independently-owned businesses. He is devoted to bringing value to clients guided by a strong sense of ethics and treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Growing up, Jim had the opportunity to live in several locations across the country, eventually landing in California in 1977. In 1988, he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Journalism from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where he wrote for the Mustang Daily and was a news reporter for KCPR Radio.
Upon graduation Jim joined Merck & Co., Inc. in the sales and operations division. He worked in multiple departments and divisions across the company before becoming a director, responsible for the commercial operations throughout the Mountain West Region.
Upon leaving Merck in 2014, Jim opened his own home care agency in Temecula, CA providing high-level, quality care for the elderly, infirmed and disabled. He recognized the need for honest, reliable care for a vulnerable population and dedicated himself, and his team, to bring empathy and advocacy to those in need.
Jim is proud to be a member of the Shoup Legal Team. He lives in Temecula with his wife where they raised three children, all now in college. He is on the Board of Directors for the G.A.I.T. program, a non-profit organization that provides equine therapy for disabled children. He also served on the Community Relations Advisory Board for Temecula Valley Hospital and for five years was the Event Chair for the Temecula Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Alasia graduated MSJC with an associate degree in arts for social & behavioral sciences and an associate degree in arts for communications. Currently, Alasia is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Alasia is inspired by the intricacies of communication and culture and this inspiration drives her towards creating a genuine connection with the people.
Alasia is an Office Assistant here at Shoup Legal and she enjoys assisting our clients with scheduling appointments and providing them the best experience with Shoup Legal.
Alasia was an active athlete who enjoys golfing. Alasia is also an avid lover of Greek mythology, poetry, music, and Nintendo games.
Eveliina graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and holds a Paralegal Certificate.
In her free time, Eveliina likes to read Stephen King novels and spend time with her two Australian Shepherds.

Tasha, a DePaul University graduate, with a degree in Psychology, is an Estate Planning Assistant.
She moved to California in 2016 and is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Family Therapy. Tasha also works part-time doing social work with the elderly.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, hiking, kayaking, and traveling.
Sylvia Misiewicz has more than three decades of legal and business experience. As a paralegal who has built a successful, diverse career path, Sylvia assists the attorneys at Shoup Legal in probate and trust administration matters. Originally from San Diego, Sylvia has made her home in the Temecula / Murrieta Valley for the last 20 years.
Sylvia has degrees in Business with an emphasis in Legal Studies (Paralegal), Social / Behavior Sciences, Humanities, and Art History. Given our region’s burgeoning wine industry, she has also attended wine school.
Ms. Misiewicz is a member of the American Bar Association, National Association of Legal Assistants, and the Inland Empire Paralegal Association.
Known as a serious gourmand and art and wine collector, in her free time, Sylvia enjoys niche travel experiences, mentoring young ladies, and doing charitable fundraising for several organizations in the Southern California region and abroad.

Bailey joined Shoup Legal as an Office Assistant and quickly moved into the Paralegal position in the Trust Administration department. Bailey brings over 10 years of Trust and Estates experience to the department and knows the importance of assisting clients after the loss of their loved ones.
Outside of work, Bailey enjoys gardening, watching movies, and baking. She is also an avid animal lover.

Nini grew up in the Philippines, where she received her BSC in Economics from the University of Santo Tomas. She lived in New York City where she worked at Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine Law Firm.
After enjoying the fast paced life of New York City, she got married and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she worked at Anderson & Anderson, APC, and then transitioned to Ross Hackett Dowling Valencia & Walti, A Professional Law Corporation.
She taught 1st graders at St. Augustine’s Church for over 10 years. Nini moved with her husband and son down to Southern California in early February of 2016. When she is out of the office Nini enjoys spending time with her family, going to Broadway shows and taking Charlie, her 2 year old Shih Tzu on walks.
Nini strives to maintain a high standard of loyalty, professionalism and amazing customer service that she has learned throughout her different life experiences. Nini enjoys helping the families we serve protect their loved ones and have peace of mind through estate planning.
Mikael Feeney has extensive experience in Client Services. She has held a broad range of positions in several different industries.
She started as a Hospitality Manager at a boutique hotel while studying at Boston University. Later, she went on to Hollywood to work in Television Production. Mikael was a Buyer for the C-17 Aerospace Team before being recruited as a Sales and Marketing Manager for a successful medical manufacturer.
Most recently, Ms. Feeney enjoyed her role as a teacher and was honored to receive the prestigious 2018-2019 Founder’s Day Award before joining our team at Shoup Legal.
Mikael is passionate about connecting with people and thrives on providing superior customer service. In her free time you can find her camping with her family.
Julia studied at California State University, San Marcos as a Business Major. She is well versed in Business Management and Client Relations, having been deeply involved in multiple family businesses and positions of leadership in Corporate Business for nearly a decade.
She has had extensive and immersive experience in the Trust Administration and Estate Planning field, first as a Trust Account Manager, and later at Shoup Legal as a Client Transition Specialist. She understands the importance of assisting the families we serve and works hard with her teammates to ensure our clients are always satisfied.
In her free time, Julia enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her family in Winchester.

Annie graduated MSJC with an associate degree in Social Sciences and is currently obtaining her bachelor’s degree in social work. Annie began working for Shoup Legal in 2021 and previously worked as an emergency dispatcher and spent time working within the foster family system. In her free time, she enjoys being near the water, spending time with family, boyfriend and her two dogs as well as riding horses and watching movies. Annie has a passion for helping others, learning new things and always enjoys a good conversation.
Eva is the Executive Assistant to the Managing Attorney at Shoup Legal. She was born and raised in Southern California and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. With over 20 years of experience in business administration and client relations, she’s acquired an extensive portfolio supporting reputable businesses and Senior Executives alike. Eva is fluent in Spanish and truly understands the importance of providing unwavering support to not only the firm, but also to the individual needs of our valued clients.
In her free time, she enjoys cycling, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
Eva lives in Temecula, California with her husband, her son, and her mini dachshund.
Leah has lived in several parts of Southern California, but her favorite area has always been the family farm in Temecula. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, Leah worked within the Human Resource Department at NASA’s Jet Propulsions Laboratory.
Upon taking time off to raise her two daughters, Leah realized her passion for numbers and began her master’s degree in accounting. She feels blessed to be a part of such an amazing team dedicated to serving clients of varying needs.
In her free time, Leah enjoys ballet, poetry writing, surfing, and spending time with family.

Kelli is currently studying at California Baptist University to get her Criminal Justice Bachelor’s degree with a minor in English. She has over 10 years of experience in office services and management. Kelli joined the Shoup Legal team recently in September of 2021. In her free time, you can find Kelli on her boat surrounded by her son, boyfriend, family, and friends. Kelli has a passion for legal services and hopes to further her education.
Karli grew up in Minnesota with her family on their family farm. In 2017, she moved out to California to join her fiancée and get a break from the cold weather. She currently studies History at MSJC with a minor in Music. Karli has an extensive background in the corporate business world, having worked in the mortgage servicing and real estate industries.
Now, she enjoys making sure our clients receive the best Shoup Legal experience and helping in any way she can.
In her free time, Karli enjoys spending time with her friends playing tabletop games and reading any historic fantasy novel she can get her hands on.
Trent was born and raised in California and graduated from California State University San Marcos with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. After living and working in Los Angeles, he decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of living in Europe. Trent moved to Czech Republic in 2016 and worked for 3 years as an English teacher for business clients throughout the city of Prague.
Trent joined the Shoup Legal team in 2020 and loves being part of an amazing team that serves local families.
Trent ran cross country and track in high school and enjoys being active. He also loves traveling, trying new foods, hiking, and spending time with his family’s array of animals.
What is a Certified Specialist?
The State Bar certifies attorneys as specialists who have gone beyond the standard licensing requirements.
California attorneys who are certified as specialists have taken and passed a written examination in their specialty field, demonstrated a high level of experience in the specialty field, fulfilled ongoing education requirements and been favourably evaluated by other attorneys and judges familiar with their work.
Only these attorneys can identify themselves as certified specialists in California because they are the only attorneys who are certified either by the California Board of Legal Specialization or by an organization whose certification program has been accredited by the State Bar. Such an organization must have requirements for certification that are at least equal to those of the State Bar’s program.
